Welcome to South Africa!
Day 1 Cape Town
This is our arrival/meet and greet day! We will meet at our guest
house at 3pm and have the opportunity to get to know each other
over bubbles and appetizers! This is always a fun day to discuss our
upcoming adventure!
Included: Welcome reception with drinks and snacks.
Day 2-Cape Town
Today we will drive through the famous Chapman’s Peak to the most
South Eastern point in Africa. Welcome to the Cape of Good Hope! We
will ascend steps to the top of the hill to experience the most stunning views (hopefully no rain!), afterwards we will make our way to
Boulders Beach where we will are almost guaranteed to see penguins
and possibly wild baboons too! The African penguins are only found on
the coastlines of Southern Africa - (South Africa & Namibia). These
penguins are currently on the verge of extinction. As a result, the
penguins are under the protection of the Cape Nature Conservation.
Although set in the midst of a residential area, it is one of the few
sites where this vulnerable bird (Spheniscus demersus) can be ob-
served at close range, wandering freely in a protected
natural environment. From just two breeding pairs in 1982,
the penguin colony has grown to about 3,000 birds in recent years. This is partly due to the reduction in commercial pelagic trawling in False Bay, which has increased the
supply of pilchards and anchovy, which form part of the penguins' diet.
Once you have had your fill of penguins (if that’s possible)
we will take a short drive to the picturesque
Simon’s Town for a beautiful lunch on the harbour.
Included- Breakfast, Entrance fees to Table Mountain National
Park, Boulders Beach and a fabulous lunch at Harbour House!
Day 3-CapeTown
CapeTown City highlights!
This day is to explore the amazing CapeTown highlights! After breakfast, we will (weather permitting), ascend the cable car up Table
Mountain to experience the most amazing views! Then we will visit the
multicultural Bo-Kaap area, formally known as the Malay Quarter. It
was a racially segregated area and is now a historical centre. The
brightly coloured facades are attributed to an expression of freedom.
We will enjoy a leisurely stroll through the City Gardens followed by
the famous V & A Waterfront to explore at your leisure.
Included: Breakfast, Table Mountain entry
Day 4-Cape Town to Franshhoek. After breakfast we will say goodbye
to Cape Town and travel approximately 90 minutes to the stunning
wine-lands area of Stellenboch/ Fraanshoek. We will stop on the way
at the beautiful Delaire Graff Estate for a wine tasting and then settle in to our guesthouse. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the
quaint, charming town of Fraanshoek.
Included: Breakfast, wine tasting
Day 5- Franshhoek
After breakfast, the day is
yours to explore Frenshhoek. Choose to wander
through the shops, visit
another wine farm, or
lunch on an outdoor patio.
Take a bit of time during
the day to visit the nearby
grocery store and get your
creative juices going for our traditional “pot luck” dinner!
Included: Breakfast
Day 6 Franschhoek to Plettenberg Bay
We will have an early departure from Franshooek to make our way
down the Garden Route to our beach resting spot in beautiful Plettenberg Bay. This is one of our big drive days of approximately 6
hours but we will ensure there are plenty of opportunities for food/
drink and washroom breaks! Once we arrive at our guesthouse on the
beach, you can relax after a long drive and enjoy a nice glass of
South African wine. The evening is free to dine at your leisure conveniently at the guest house.
Included: Breakfast and lunch
Day 7 Plettenberg Bay
This morning after breakfast we will take
a short drive to an Elephant Sanctuary.
Guests are guided on foot through the
elephant sanctuary. Guides will provide indepth information and insight into African
elephants. You will be introduced to the
elephants in the forest area, and here you
will be able to interact with the elephants.
You will see the special relationship that
the elephant handlers share with their elephants and become a part
of it. Walk trunk-in-hand with the elephants. You will learn about elephant anatomy and will able to feed them. On some hot or rainy days
you may see the elephants swimming.

Afterwards we will visit the Monkeyland forest where the primates
are free to move about harmoniously.
By working with Touch a Monkeys Heart Foundation, Monkeyland has
secured the future of all the primates which reach the sanctuary.
Apart from being the sole custodian of all the primates at Monkeyland, the Foundation is also responsible for the development and implementation of the "Eden Syndrome", which is the process used at
Monkeyland to prepare previously caged primates for their eventual
release into the sanctuary.
A dinner reservation will be made at the magical Emily Moon restaurant nearby for those
that wish to join!
Included: Breakfast, entrances to Elephant
Sanctuary and Monkeyland
Day 8-Plettenberg Bay to Amakhala
After breakfast we will travel approximately 5 hours to our safari
experience at the Amakhala Game Reserve!
The Big Five: A term that was originally used by big-game hunters,
who deemed the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo the most
difficult animals on the African continent to hunt on foot. They are
known to be dangerous and it was considered a feat by trophy
hunters to bring them home. Today, these majestic animals are considered a “must-see” on an African safari trip.
Included: Breakfast, Dinner
After a restful sleep, we will embark on an early morning game drive,
return for breakfast and then have a chance to relax or have the option to join in other activities. Late afternoon, we will embark on an
additional game drive!
Included: Breakfast, Game Drive, Lunch, Dinner
Day 10- Amakhala to Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha)
We will be up early for our final opportunity for a game drive,
breakfast and shortly thereafter we will depart for Port Elizabeth.
Once settled into our guesthouse, enjoy the rest of the afternoon
wandering the Boardwalk/beach area with the opportunity to pick up
some last minute South African treasures.

farewell dinner!
